The Film Makers

Shelley Waddams

Director

Shelley graduated from Unitec in 2017 with a bachelor in Performing and Screen Arts, majoring in acting. Her love for writing was discovered when she was part of the writing team for her classes’ feature length Grad film ‘Kiwidip’ where she was (and continues to be) mentored by screenwriter Sam Shore.

Since graduating, Shelley has written multiple short films and devised,
directed and written plays, including Read My Lips, which had a two-week season at the Basement Theatre; and Tampocolypse which had two seasons, first at The Meteor Theatre in Hamilton and then as part of Auckland Fringe 2020. During lockdown last year, Shelley worked on a short film script with advisors from Young Screenwriters Programme, taught by NYU professor John Warren.

Georgia Hoskins-Smith

Producer

Georgia graduated from Unitec in 2017 with a Bachelor of Performing
and Screen Arts. She found her love for producing and all things production management during their third-year graduate film ‘Kiwi Dip’
and has been developing her skills ever since.

It is this skill that led to her being head hunted by the director of Auckland based creative agency Curative. She now works as a Producer, producing and managing multiple projects for government, philanthropic and non-profit organisations, to bring about positive social change. Georgia's
favourite part of her job is the people she gets to work with and the communities these projects serve. Through her work Georgia has produced a wide range of projects including a recruitment campaign for Te Pou, Auckland Pride 2021 & 2022 campaign and a Nation-wide recruitment campaign for the Ministry of Health
