Director

Karin McCracken is an award-winning writer, actor and theatre-maker focussed on telling stories that empower women and interrogate gendered violence, sex, and desire. Karin completed a double degree in Theatre and Law at Victoria University, and has since focussed on creating visually gripping, immersive, performer driven theatre-work.

This will be Karin's first time directing for film. Karin feels confident in this role, given her experience on film sets, her background in direction and creation for theatre, and the strong team around her.

Nicola Bailey

Producer

Nicola is an aspiring producer with an established network of talented filmmakers in New Zealand.

After completing WIFT’s first Emerging Producer’s Workshop in 2019, Nicola has since produced a Loading Docs short documentary called “One Year On,” Directed by Francesca Mackenzie and a short drama called “Serving,” directed by Karin McCracken – a Someday Stories funded short, soon to be released!

Nicola has always been drawn to stories about integrating into new environments and fresh perspectives that empower our NZ/Asian demographic. She also feels strongly about historical and cultural stories of Aotearoa and hopes to use filmmaking as a tool to educate.
