Chris Widdup - DirectorChris has worked for Connected Media Trust on The Outlook for Someday since 2011 and has been Director of the trust and Executive Producer for Someday Stories since 2018. Chris started out in film and television as an actor and has spent his working life as a camera operator, editor, producer, and director. He served as Series Producer on the first series of Someday Stories and as co-Executive Producer on series two, three, four, and five. Chris loves the challenge of finding and supporting emerging NZ filmmakers to take their first steps on the pathway towards a rewarding creative career while at the same time delivering compelling and challenging stories for a local and global audience.
Rina Patel - Series Production ManagerRina is a production manager, short-fiction/screenplay writer, and sometimes actor. Originally a Te Kura o Aotearoa Toi Whakaari actor graduate and Auckland University MA screenwriting/directing alum Rina has worked in multiple areas of film, tv, and theatre. She spent several years working with refugee youth as a production manager for Mixit empowering rangatahi through creativity. In 2019 Rina came on board as the Someday Stories Series 3 production coordinator supporting emerging filmmakers evolving as the incumbent production manager. Rina's passion lies in how we can harness stories within film to inspire, provoke and empower both filmmakers and audiences alike.
Alix Whittaker - Series Producer, Someday StoriesAlix has produced ambitious and award-winning short films including ‘DANIEL’ by Claire van Beek (Best Emerging Film-Maker at NZIFF 2020); feature films ‘Stray’ by Dustin Feneley, and ‘Mega Time Squad’ by Tim van Dammen. Alix served as Producer Intern on Taika Waititi’s ‘Hunt For The Wilderpeople’, and has attended a Masterclass by US Independent Producer Ted Hope at the Big Screen Symposium, a year-long ‘A-Z for Producing Course’ led by Australian Independent Producer Sue Maslin, and a Story Development Workshop lead by Australian Script Consultant Louise Gough. Alix attended the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and Market in early 2020, just before the world locked down, where she found sales agents for her short films DANIEL (Premium Films), and PAIN (Lights On). At Candlelit Pictures, Alix is developing and financing an exciting slate of feature films she loves for their unique perspectives about the world we live in.
Anna Rose Duckworth - Comms and Project ManagerAnna has worked in film and television for over a decade, in both NYC and Auckland. Previously a producer at Candlelit Pictures, Anna now writes and directs short films including MUM JEANS, PAIN, and web series PSUSY S2. Anna took part in the DEGNZ Women Filmmakers Incubator and the NZAPG Commercial Directing Mentorship.
Anna has competed in 48Hours for over a decade, winning awards for directing and her team being three-time National Finalists. Following her success in the competition, Anna was invited by 48Hours and NZ Government to be part of a delegation to Kuala Lumpur to mentor film students taking part in 48Hours Malaysia 2014.
