The Outlook for Someday is a project that has been running since 2007 to develop, uplift and amplify the voices of Aotearoa’s young people through film. We have a range of programmes to empower young New Zealanders to explore their unique voices through filmmaking.
We aim to encourage rangatahi to examine the world around them, tell their stories and share their perspectives of what they see, hear, and feel.
Each year since 2017, Someday Stories has given six emerging young filmmaking teams aged 18 - 29 the funding and support to produce their first funded short film. In 2024, season 8 of Someday Stories will feature eight films including two films with significant te reo Māori content.
